Hey Mike! This is just a cautionary note regarding the FW-1884 and using a separate soundcard for JAWS. Whatever you do, don't set JAWS to come on automatically! The reason for this is thus: The FW will pick up JAWS, far quicker than any other soundcard in my experience, (this is assuming you have the FW-1884 turned on before you turn on your PC). So, no matter what your computers internal soundcard assignments/settings are, the FW will always hijack the output of JAWS! Hope this helps, Your friend in London, Mike Christer -----Original Message----- From: "ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx" <ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> on behalf of "William R. If so, is the "Use only Default Devices" checked? Otherwise, as far as I know, Windows is somewhat random about which of multiple audio devices it decides to play. I am hoping to get hold of another computer and see if the Tascam will work on it so that will be my next step. I will let you know how I get on. Let us know how it goes. As I am new to computer recording a sighted friend help me load the software for the Tascam and although the settings appear to be correct on the computer, there is no audio coming through the FW1884 soundcard.
