Yes, if Sean's suggestion fails, ask someone you know to try playing the
file back on their own set up to determine if there's something failing in
your set up or if the problem is internal to this particular file.

Just my humble opinion.

If you can't locate the source of the problem, Just assign a new tempo value
for the entire song, save the file and re-open the file and set the original
value to the song once again.  This should remove any erroneous data from
the tempo values.
