I don't know why but I do know that it can happen. I had a midi sequencer that I used to edit midis. I used to make midis with the keyboard but I'll soon be using sonar. Anyway, anything I made with the keyboard, the sequencer considered all of it as one track. So here's what I think. It's always a good idea to use different channels for different instruments and stuff because if you're going to do drums, you should put it on track 10. That's technically the only exception, but I'd normally put everything on different channels. Another reason is that it's plain easy to change the volume of certain channels and do other things like quantizing, panning, etc. to different channels then just do it to one that has everything on it. It's always a good idea. I may be totally wrong because I don't use Sonar. I'm planning to be able to use it soon. Should I assign different channels for each individual track? If so, why is this? It's been working with everything using channel 1, but I could be missing something ... Stephanie Pieck
