[ddots-l] auditioning soft synth patches and effects

Hi,
I've recently installed Sonar 6. I'm wondering if it is possible to audition the sounds of the various patches of soft synths like Dimension pro etc. The new F4 feature, while functional doesn't seem to allow for auditioning the list of sounds in real time without having to choose one, then listen to see if it's the one you want. 

This is the same problem I'm having with the presets of effects.

Am I missing something?
