yes you can choose to have verbal feedback
while manipulating surface control.
for exemple with a comp you can hear all the value changing while moving
buttons.
(threshold, ratio, attack, release, output...)
use full when you want to quickly set same comp parameters on different
channels.
that kind of verbal feedback is avelable for a lot of fonctions.
only depends the way the value or switch state are displaied.
sometimes window-eyes doesn't understand correctly that a value has changed.
colour problem i think.
haven't find out how to solv this

Yes, Tim, I agree. I am not sure of the technical hurdles to be cleared
in
order to make that happen.
A question to the guys using the Behringer control surface with Nuendo and
Window-Eyes: does Window-Eyes give you verbal feedback when you manipulate
a
knob or switch on your control surface?

Bill,
It'd be really cool if we could get CT providing feedback when actions are
initiated from a control surface. This would give us the ease of use of a
control mechanism designed for the job and the reporting required to
ensure
that you're not making even more of a mess than usual.
Cheers.

I certainly think it is good that we blind people have some options when
it
comes to audio production technology. I don't know almost anything at all
about Nuendo and I don't use Window-Eyes although I believe it is a good
product. I do know something about CakeTalking though and I want to make
a
couple of important points here:
One of the biggest strengths of CakeTalking is its reporting capabilities.
That is, it automatically tells the user when certain things happen like
when one solos or un-solos a track. In other words, you can immediately
confirmation that what you intended to happen actually did happen! You
can
also request status on many important items on demand by pressing certain
keys. For example, press CONTROL+SHIFT+ENTER and you'll hear a report
listing all the currently selected tracks.
Secondly, and perhaps even more importantly, CakeTalking comes with
hundreds
of pages of help text in the form of WordPad documents. It also has an
extensive online help system. All help is written for the JAWS user of
CakeTalking and is almost a case of reverse discrimination against sighted
users who are accustomed to such phrases as "Click on the..."
Of course, one can use a hardware control surface with CakeTalking runing
and some of our users really like to work that way. Again, options are a
good thing!

hi shawn,
yes nuendo is fully fonctional with window-eyes
recording and editing audio or midi is quite simple.
i use it with two surface control behringer.
it gives a better access for faders, eq, effects send,
automations, and a lot of different controls.
also good for some vst plug in.
