What about symantec antivirus, am using i t here and its not too heavy.

  Yes.  Norton is way too heavy on system resources.  Go with AVG instead.

    I've heard that Norton Antivirus is especially not recommended on daw 
systems. Is there a reason for this, or is it because of norton conflicting 
with jaws?
