That will mess up the sound of the jaws synth but I've done that before and
it works pretty well. let me know if you want me to rerecord and redoo the
steps.

Sarah,

I am in awe of how you can understand this speed. I downloaded the file and
I'll run it at a slower speed to see what it says.

    Sarah,

The Advanced Filter dialog is pretty complicated. It sound to me that you
may not have hit the reset button before selecting just the lines (pedal marks)
you wanted.

First before you even go into the advanced filter, please be sure you don't
have any other filters active. Then select everything plus staff items (since I
think pedal marks are a staff item).

In the advanced filter dialog uncheck all the items except lines, as you
did but then make sure you hit the reset button (or is it clear?). Then I've
personally found that I need to go through the entire dialog a couple times,
tabbing until I go crazy, just to be absolutely certain that I've
checked/unchecked everything that needs to be. Then of course scroll down the
list of lines and hit spacebar on just the item (pedal marks) that I want
filtered.

I sure don't know why in your case the notes are being deleted as well, but
my guess is that somehow they are still being covertly selected.

    Good luck.

    Dave

Hey ya all. I'm trying to use the advanced filter dialogue to filter all
pedal markings and delete them from a conductor's score because they want them
gone. I cannot get it to work. i uncheck all but the lines and choose the kind
of pedal marking it is and then I think it's filtered and when I hit the delete
key it delete's all the notes. If someone can see what I'm doing wrong I'd be
most grateful. I have until Saturday night to get this done printed and turned
in. my contact info is below.

      Thanks all.
