Hi!

Did you all recently send out an e-mail about a new free llist group that discusses audio recorders? I can't find my copy of you did? I intended to subscribe to it.
Please resend me the info!!

Hi, Scott,

Regarding the octave problem, have you set your keyboard to local-off mode?
If not, you will continue to get those effects that can make something sound
like it's in the wrong octave. In local-on mode, the synthe plays each MIDI
note that SONAR sends twice with an imperceptible amount of time between
each note-on. There's a much more complete explanation in the main
CakeTalking tutorial for those of you who have CakeTalking. Anyhow, try
setting synthe for local-off. Each make and model seems to have its own set
of controls to make that happen so I cannot give you specifics. Check your
keyboard's user manual.

Subject: [ddots-l] a couple more midi questions

Hello.

I noticed a couple of interesting in sonar 8 with the JSonar scripts and my
kurzweil board.

The first thing is that I've found that if I go to insert bank/patch change
and select a bank for the pc 3, I can use shift+plus or minus on the number
pad to change sounds and it will accept the changes. Why it doesn't accept
those same changes from the dialog is beyond me but I guess using those
keystrokes is easier anyway.

The second thing I noticed is that when I'm playing the notes on the
keyboard, some of them play an octave higher intermitantly which gives the
piano part an awkward sound, depending on what I'm playing.

Has anyone had this problem where notes sound an octave higher than they're
supposed to?

Thanks for the help.

Scott
