Yet another questionK,

My guess here is to use the Engraving Rules dialog to direct the positioning 
and appearance of the Instrument names. I'm not very expert on this, and 
therefore would not know even if I was successful.

have a command for changing a staff name but I don't see anything for editing 
the abreviation on subsequent staves in a score.
