I used a demo of Audition without scripts for a while and there were several things I could do, mostly audio processing of the entire wave. It had the best plugins for declicking vinyl.

Hi, Dan

I wasn't aware there were developed scripts for Adobe, but some that someone
had designed themselves and that these hadn't developed beyond the first
version of Adobe. That was why I went for Sonar, and because of Dancing
Dots' track record and reputation. If I've been misled, please correct me
re Adobe Audition.

Cheers

Kylee

Kylee, I'm sorry to say that Sonar is definitely not an audio editor. Its
really just a midi sequencer with extended audio facilities. It's
designed
for making music that also involves softsynths and hardsynths. I admit
that
I sometimes use it for very corse edits but its no good for splicing or
tight crossfades.

If you need to carry out fine edits then you'll need either SoundForge
(for
one track stereo) or Adobe Audition (for multitrack), either is
accessible.

Its not just a question of resolution, the real difference is the ease of
navigating through the file. Both programs have keystrokes for previewing
edits and playing up to the cursor, after the cursor and the few seconds
around the cursor. Its also much easier to move around in the file and
select regions of audio for editing. This is extremely important if
you're
working to a deadline and have to move fast.

Dan
