Thanks so much. I'm looking for new inspiration and fun with recording so I
will upgrade and play and see what happens.

Cheers!

Yea the midi act will automatically assign the nobs and sliders to certain
functions, but they can be changed/remapped for each synth. You can use midi
learn for that. That means the dead controllers will be resurrected! LOL

Hey X,
Will the Sonar Midi ACT easily transform the Axiom 49 knobs and faders into
meaningful effect controllers instead of dust collectors as they are now
(for me at least)?

I'd LOVE for the knobs and faders to be able to tweak with synth sounds like
decay and envelope filter and delay and reverb etc.

Any ideas anyone? You can even tell me I must not know how to set up the
Axiom 49 with Sonar because that is true. Haha Any help will be appreciated!

Sonar's midi act has support for the axiom. So you will be good there.
Regarding ct stuff, check out the dd web site. They'll be able to help u
better.

Hi,

I've been away for a little while.
I'm guessing it's been discussed before but since it seems to have come up
here I wonder about upgrading from Sonar and CT 6 to 8.

What is the cost?
Also, will my JAWS version 8 be adequate?

Finally, I have an Axiom 49 midi controller. I would love it if I could
easily make use of the cool knobs and faders with the newer Sonar 8.

Any answers or input will make my day.

Many thanks.

I found that the audio engine in Sonar 5 was better (at least more pleasing
to me) than Sonar 6.

I am also encouraged about the lower Cpu load as I start to get slowdowns
etc. even with my dual core 4 G comp.

Stacy

Yes, it is.
I will tell you a little bit.
1. look on cakewalk.com for the features of sonar8.
What ever you have for synths.
sonar 8 comes with synths wich are very very good.
Sonar 8 and CT8 are very good together. nor breaks and other problems.
I used sonar 6 and upgraded to sonar 8 producer. it is wonderful.
You can work with audio. the audioengine is new. it sounds better than every
previus version.
If you ask me I would say, Buy sonar 8 producer.
There are very new plugins.
the tube leveler, the transien shaper, the - oh don#t know what else.
a wonder ful sonitus suite.
there are many things better then in sonar 4.
I started with sonar 6. it is much better than sonar 4.
sonar 8 is much better then sonar 6.
so upgrade.
good luck.
regards, robert.
