[ddots-l] Strange winamp problem

Hi all. I'm having a strange thing happen with winamp.
When I load a video or even just an mp3 file, I'm getting a twenty second
lag once winamp opens until the file plays. Also, sometimes it just cuts
off for no apparent reason.
A thing comes up that says winamp update but I can't get it to go away.
It's talking about the winamp dashboard thing which I didn't install. I
have visualizations disabled and I'm using the classic scheme.
Could someone send a link to the latest winamp version? I might try wiping
this one and installing it from scratch. It didn't do this before.
