Dave,
Sorry, my inexperience probably makes my terminology a little bit
vague.
I'd like to be able to take loops and samples that already exist and
mix them together to form new tracks. I'd also like to be able to extract
samples from existing tracks and possibly in the far off future to be able
to create my own tracks from scratch, although this won't be for quite some
time!
As I said, I've got no experience of doing this, but I very much
like to dance. I've often had some good ideas for dance/house music tracks
that I'd like to dance to, usually based on liking an existing pop song,
which I think could be mixed in with a better bass beat and so forth.
I very loosely know the rudiments of accomplishing this, as a friend
of mine is a DJ, although he tends to mix live from vinyl records, rather
than digitally like I'm looking to.
I hope this clarifies things a bit anyway.
Tink.

Hi! When you say "mix dance music" I'm just trying to understand exactly
what you mean. Do you mean you want to record a dj set? Or would you like to
remix a dance tracks? Or even make dance music of your own?
Let me know and I'll see what I can do to help.
Dave
