We recently switched from dial-up to DSL Internet service and are about to
add an M-Audio sound card (purchased some time ago from Dancing Dots) to the
computer to handle web audio using Windows Media Player and/or Real One. We
use JAWS 6.2 and want to continue using the original card on the mother
board, identified as an avance AC97, for Eloquence and all Windows sounds.
We have checked out the JFW reference regarding the use of two sound cards
which was discussed in a July list message pasted below. Nevertheless, the
actual procedure remains unclear. For example, does one first choose the new
M-Audio card under "audio devices" from the control panel, then rewrite the
JFW.ini file to specify the original card as the default for Eloquence? Or
is there a concept here that I am failing to understand?
Any help off list will be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi Omar,
Go to

It will give step by step instructions as to make sure JAWS uses the sound
card you want.
