[ddots-l] Sibelius: simple guitar part questions

Hi folks.

I'm writing out a very simple guitar exercise in standard notation.
I'll briefly describe it, before I ask my questions.

Played in it's entirety, it's 64 bars, in aaba form. It has first and
second endings and a coda. Other than that, it's mostly one chord per
bar, four-note chords played on beat 1 and sustained for the rest
of the
bar. It's in 4/4 time. A couple bars have two chords, so they would
just
be a sustained half note each. The student is supposed to play
continuous eighth-note lines along with the progression, without
stopping.

First, I understand that chord symbols go above the staff. Where can I
show fingering numbers or fret positions? I was thinking of using
Figured Bass (I.e. Roman Numerals below the staff) for fret/hand
positions, which would leave me room above each note in the chord for a
small text finger number.

Second, To instruct to play steady eighths, I would like to stick a bar
of eight slashes on the third line of the staff. I understand how to
turn notes into slashes from the documentation, but I'm worried that
I'll overlap with chord notes. Should I be as brief as possible, and
enter this instruction as technique text? Or, maybe a separate staff
below the chords, with just one bar containing the eight slashes? Or,
maybe as a rehearsal mark? I'm a bit confused as to the difference
between technique text, rehearsal marks, and expressions actually,
since
they all give instructions to the player, and I think are all above the
staff.

Or, does anybody know if Sibelius Speaking allows for the making of
guitar tablature? I noticed guitar tab and guitar tab with notation
available in the manuscript papers list.

thanks for any help! I hope someone else out there has prepared some
guitar parts before.
