[ddots-l] Re: Scrubbing

Hi Chi!!

Well, I don't personally use composite tracks myself. However, I do compile
several vocals into one
track. I have been doing this since working in Sonar 2.2. Let me explain.

A client comes into my studio and does three vocal takes that I am happy with.
I then choose the
best of the three takes, select that track and copy it to a fourth empty track.
 I then mute all of
the tracks except for the new track that I have copied too. At this point, I
play that track
through and stop it at a point where the vocal sounds weak or perhaps, flat. I
mute the fourth
vocal track, then look at the other two vocal takes and can usually find a line
from one of those to
replace the duff line on the fourth vocal track. I keep on going through the
take and compiling
lines from the other takes to the fourth track.

Regarding your other question, you can always use the "snap to grid" dialog.
That has various
options for accessing the grid.

You can get into the "snap to grid" dialog box in Sonar 3 by using the Cake
Talking keystroke,
function key F4.

Also, with Sonar 4 and When Cake Talking for Sonar 4 is released, , you will be
able to select audio
and use the "nudge feature" in order to move audio back and fourth.
