Yeah that should work. Make sure the kick drum.wav file is in the same
directory as the kick drum.sfz file. And make sure that really is the right
filename.

Thanks again Gord for your help on the phone. I have another question.
Shouldn't my sample definition look like this?
    <region> sample=kickdrum.wav
The sample still is not being triggered and I'm trying to solve the problem
through process of ilimination. If I'm writing it correctly then I'll know that
there's another reason why it's not working even though I can't think of what
it could be right now.

Yes I did. Are you saying that there are no more options? Are you
saying that you would prefer it if I didn't call you?

It should work. Like I always say, there's no magic potion. Did you
give the file aa .sfz extension?

Thank you Gord the wav file referenced by the SFZ file are in the
same folder. What I'm not clear on is how do I open my SFZ kick wav When the
open dialog says list view zero items. I don't know why this is happening since
I can open the SFZ folder outside of Sonar. It's when I'm in Sonar the open
dialog says zero items.I know that I'm in the SFZ folder when I'm in the open
dialog because when I press the back space key I land in the list where my SFZ
is located. If I choose the SFZ folder and hit enter on it jaws says zero
items. Is it possible That I could call you sometime tomorrow so that you can
walk me through the process?

You would want to open the sfz file. It doesn't matter what
folder it is in, as long as the .wav files referenced by the sfz file are in
the same folder.

I found the open dialog with my jaws curser. Not sure if it
should be done this way, but when I went to the folder that I created there was
nothing in the
list view. When I go to the SFZ folder that I created outside
of sonar, I can hear jaws reading the list view. right now I have two files in
the folder.
I have kick drum.SFZ and kick drum.wav. What am I missing? Do
you even open it with the jaws curser? If not how do you open it. If you do
open it with
the jaws curser, then why can't I choose the file I want to
load in sonar? Could it be that I didn't write the sample definition correctly?
