Hi, Tom,

I suspect that JAWS has mistakenly decided that you need to reauthorize your
unit of JAWS. The JAWS software detected a change in your system set-up and
generated the dreaded Error 6 message I will bet.

If my theory is correct, you will find that when you press INSERT+J and then
ALT+H and type the letter A as in apple, JAWS will report that your JAWS
Serial Number is 801 and that you're in 40-minute demo mode. The next time
you restart your PC or start JAWS, you will be told that you must
reauthorize your copy of JAWS. If your PC's online, you'll have the option
to go to Freedom Scientific's site and download another authorization key
for your unit of JAWS.

Since your SN is 801, CakeTalking's own authorization function determines
that you are running a different Serial Number of JAWS then the one for
which you are authorized and issues that message you're getting accordingly.

Let me know if my theory is incorrect. If you want to write to me off-list,
use my billlist1@xxxxxxxxxxx address as our info@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx address is
temporarily unavailable.

Also, if I'm right, be sure to protest to Freedom Scientific's own support
people. Freedom is aware of this problem but has not yet corrected it. I
did post a request for people to download and run a simple test utility from
FS designed to help them debug this problem. I'm told that very few people
responded. If you'd like more info let me know and I'll re-post that
message.

Bill

Dots

Hi Bill, I just upgraded my pc to 1 gig of memory and downloaded the CT 5.2
version. I completed the process of setting up and registered on the web
site. I'm still getting a message that the version I am using is not
authorized and can't do any work. What else do I need to do.

Thanks Tom
