Hey Omar,
This is another one of those questions that have to do with personal style and
what you want to hear. I would say if you were going to use and an external
preamp, you would want it to be considerably better than the modules in your
console. For instance, aNeve preamp or something of that ilk would certainly
enhance the sound of vocals, kick, etc. however, it would not make sense to buy
something like a Beringer preamp because it is in the same category as most
low-end consoles. For my two cents, I would probably like to have a few really
goodtube and other condenser Mics before I considered adding some preamp's.
