Mike,

You're suggesting that the beginning of the audio is several minutes into 
the track, for example? That's definitely one that caught me a few times. 
Yes, the event view is the way to make sure there is an audio event, and 
where it's located.

There might be a chance that the audio is there, but not where you
realize...

Press ALT+ the # 4, to get in to the event view, and cursor right to see if
its actually there?
It could be a long, long way in to the project?
