Does this recorder have speach? Is it the most accessible unit for us that's out there right now? Is it ok for recording live music? Or is there something better that's also accessible? Just wondering I'm thinking about getting something new. Right now I have an old dennon portable dat with a great stereo mic but it's a bit bulky and of course doesn't have a hard drive that will allow me to simply transfer recording to computer. ----- Original Message ----- From: Peter Slowkowski To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, November 04, 2010 6:47 PM Subject: [ddots-l] Re: Olympus DM-520 volume & record level controls? Hey Mike, Peter here again. Hold in that big round button and then arrow to the Record Menu. Arrow left on that and then find the Recording Level Settings. I think that says either Auto or Manual. If you pick auto then that Mic sensativity is used with either the Middle, High or Low with automatic level control. If you pick Manual then once you start a recording, the Left and Right Arrows control the recording level for down or up. The volume controls for listening are the Up and Down arrows. Hope this makes sense. ----- Original Message ----- From: Mike Christer To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, November 04, 2010 5:42 PM Subject: [ddots-l] Olympus DM-520 volume & record level controls? Hey list! Please could somebody tell me how to adjust the volume, as well as the recording levels, on my Olympus DM-520? I've been thru all the menu's and can't find anything other than mike sensitivity! Thanx all over again! l8r Mike
