[ddots-l] Re: O. T. How to split a MIDI keyboard within Sonar

MessageJust insert filter effects on midi track.
I forgot the name of the effect, but you can filter only certain notes.

I want to send to two different soft synths which will require two separate
ports and channels. No hardware synths involved.

    K,

Does your MIDI synth have the capability of sending each portion to a
different MIDI channel? My Roland can send the left split to channel 3 and the
right split to channel 1 if I set it up correctly. Then I would think you could
assign the Sonar tracks to each channel of the same MIDI port.

      Guys,
I'm trying to split my MIDI keyboard into zones so that one
portion of the keyboard is routed to one soft synth and the other is routed to
another. Both soft synths are on distinct ports and channels. I used to do
this when I had a Roland A-80 controller that had four physical MIDI OUT
connections. My current controller only has one MIDI OUT. I have a program
called MIDI Ox 7.0 and I vaguely remember how to use certain aspects of that
but would love help in created a map that splits the keyboard as described
above.

      K.
