Yep that is all true.
I have started working with clients, but i would still like to have a lap
top that could run audio with ease. And some day i will! I think it would
bee convenient fore me to take on the road. I have a lot of down time and
could do some sireous editing and mixing while rolling across this fare
land. I am just going to have to bight the bullet and get a new one.

I don't know how big you want your harddrive but I have mine partitioned,
and I put all my audio files on the one not running windows. I have 40
gigabites of space for that. I can quite happily be working on ten
projects
with 40 gigabites. ten is probably an understatement. If only laptop
batteries were so much better, so I could mix on the bus. That would be
fun.
O and you could always get an external hardrive to back things up. I
imagine
a desktop computer may be better if you're working with clients.

Hey Dave,
I'm with you there, I have allwase liked useing my lap top fore all
purpouss
home and some day i hope, audio recording. My lap top is getting out of
date but she is my baby. Whin i was computer shopping i wanted something
that i could take on the road with me, and some people tryed to get me to
get an exturnal key bord and even a nuther monitor. But i held my ground
and it all ways worked out for me. I am just wateing for lap tops to
offer
up larger hard drives and I will start recording audio on one myself. A
lot
of session musicians use lap tops on the road to get sessions dun quicker
and it seems to work out fore them.
