Hey Shawn: Thanks for those tips, I'll do one or the other. Robert.

Hey Robert,

I have a cabinet built under my audio desk to put the computer in. The doors are heavy and treated with acoustic foam. I also built a isolation booth that I use at times when I want a pretty dead sound.

Something that may be a good option for you is to make a sound booth out of PVC pipe and moving blankets. I used to make baffles out of that stuff and it worked well. It comes in 10 foot lengths and you can have the store cut it in half to make 5 foot lengths. You can buy elbows/ couplers to join it all together, and in the end you'll have a nice 5 by 5 space to sit in that is a little more friendly acoustic wise.

Or, just hang some blankets in the bathroom over the shower rod, towel rack and so on. That may be the easiest solution. I have also done that years ago, and still do it at times when recording in hotel rooms where I'm subject to getting a lot of traffic noise.

Shawn

Hey Shawn: just out of curiosity what do you use as sound barriers? The only solution I have is going in the next room with my wireless keyboard and closing the door which is off limits to me sometimes, because it's my wife's work space, which is also the bedroom of our 1 bedroom apartment. The only other choice is the bathroom and the acoustic in there is un desirable because of the wall and floor tile. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Shawn Brock" <shawn@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Just got the delivery today of my new Daw from Dancing Dots!

In weeks to come I'll post my observations about this tool and what I think of its performance. I'm getting ready to load 'er up with some of these 60 track projects with tons of plugins. We'll see how she takes it...

So far I have just been messing around with the sonar sample content and she's running good. The only disappointment is the output of noise she has... Not quiet at all. I had hoped for a system which would barely whisper, but that isn't the case here... I'm still definitely having to use sound barriers with this machine... Oh well... You can't have it all I guess...

I plan to also track some guitars today to test her out.

Best,
Shawn
