Well, you can use a standard tape machine. However, if you can get hold of a
professional one then,
it should get rid of more tape hiss. Also, the outputs on professional
machines tend to be quieter
which, results in the noise on the tape coming into the PC, sounding much less
hissier than using a
standard domestic off the shelf machine.
I acquired an Iowa machine. It's a professional machine and runs very quietly
indeed.
