Do you have a separate soundcard for JAWS, or is JAWS speaking through
the MOTU?  If it is speaking through the MOTU, that's a problem.  You
would be better served with having a separate AC97 for JAWS.

Well, I only have 512MB of SDRAM here on my DAW, running on an Athlon XP
166Ghz processor with a 
front sie bus of 125 so, I dount that's the problem.  It could be that
the buffers are set too low 
in the MOTU control panel though.
