Kirt, thanks, though. I did end-up getting the Presonus Eureka after I
realized I wasn't getting much help from this end. It's retailed at $600,
but I was able to get it off ebay, new for $400.

quality preamp for that money, but used might be a good way to go.

stuff is great. Unfortunately, I work with an engineer who exposed me to
a
bunch of super high quality gear, like the milenium media preamps, which
are
several thousand bucks for 4 channels. They're amazing though, and it's
hard to look at a lower priced preamp after hearing these.
