Louis,
Thanks for your note. I use the 2408 even though the cuemix is
not accessible. I have a little bit of vision and I use that vision to
set the cuemix once and never again. I've been very happy with my MOTU
stuff.
Kevin

Hi kevin and all.=20
In reference to the motu series of cards. The motu 2408 mkIII is =
available as standalone (the expansion only) and as a core system (PCI
card and external module)
Personaly oif you are going to do a major quantity of recordings. Go for
= the motu 24io with the core system. You have 24 channel line ins and
outs at = 24 bit rates. The question is however. Is the Q mix software
accessible = under jaws? If not then you would be best going for the
delta 1010 cards or = delta 1010lt cards. They are good quality and
great for the price. Directly accessible via sonar and you can set up a
32 channel interface for about =A3800 uk price with the delta 1010lt
system setup. The software for = deltas is completely accessible with
jaws.
I just enquired about running the 4 as I had a plan of using them in XP
= pro service pack 2 with the forth coming release of caketalking for
sonar 4 = and sonar 4 producer. This is so I can go on tour and record
as well as = teach visually impaired and blind students to record with
sonar.
Oh by the way.
Great news for any one looking for high quality accessible controllers =
and recording interfaces..
Here are some great recommendations for you. I've tested them under =
sonar 2.2 and sonar 3.11 (the later version 3.11 was at a friend's so
not my personal version)
Yamaha o1X digital recording workstation.
Not only a great interface for recording, it mixes, has hardware DSPs =
and direct monitor outputs. Suitable to work in conjunction with the
yamaha motif. I personally love this one as it feels great and does the
job.
There are four products from tascam which will get your mouth watering.
FW1884 interface: digital recording workstation, controller, mixer and
automation for sonar. Great tool
FW1084: as above but cheaper and less inputs/outputs.
FW1804: rack version of the above systems for module only work without =
the means of all that control.
And the moment you doods have been waiting for. Yes a direct 24 channel
remote console for sonar. Has 25 motorised faders including the master
fader, control pots and all the recording features. This is a control
surface only but great for the work if going heavy duty without wanting
= a hefty desk.
Ladies and gentlemen. The us-2400.
This will allow you the use of your internal cards or external cards, =
midi sequencing and audio needs. You'll love it
I'm not a promoter. Just someone who knows good hardware when I test it
= all.
