there's a PDF book on the ftp midi mag site called the Cake Walk Desktop
handbook, it's located in the document folder for you to download! Itbreaks
down everything from midi to audio! I'll forward the link to the list, plus
you can google midi and a whole bunch of links pop up explaining what is and
how it works!! yep!!

Yes, I would like more info about MIDI in general myself.
Does anyone have suggestions where one might read up on MIDI so we can
educate ourselves further. For example, I'm not sure how the channels work,
what can be piped where and I am utterly confused when messing about in the
instrument assignments in track properties.
      Thanks,
      Che

I have a question about that as well. Do you have to assign each
instrument its own channel as well? By the way I found out that one of the
jacks on my keyboard is malfunctioning, so I am having to borrow my friend's
keyboard until I can get mine fixed.

You need to establish one track for each indiidual instrument. You
change instruments by up and down arrowing in Sonar to the track/instrument you
want to record at any given time.

hello, I'm new to midi so please be pashont with me. I've recorded
my first track and I want to add more to the song but when I change instruments
the
first track chages to the new instrument sound. I am chaging
instrument sounds on the keyboard itself. Am I not supposed to change sounds
this way?
Do I have to change something in sonar before chaing instruments?
Can someone please help me I'm at a loss!
          Thanks
          Chad
