[ddots-l] Re: Localizing Dancing Dots' GOODFEEL Braille Music Translator: German Version of Lime and Lime Aloud

If it's of any help to you Bill, I could help you out with the Spanish version.
I've never used this software, but for what it's worth, here I am!

Subject: [ddots-l] Localizing Dancing Dots' GOODFEEL Braille Music Translator: German Version of Lime and Lime Aloud

This message contains very good news for blind musicians all over the world!

Since 1997, our GOODFEEL Braille Music Translator has worked together with
the Lime notation software. One prepares printed music notation in Lime
which GOODFEEL subsequently transcribes automatically into the equivalent
music braille notation. Until now, Lime has only been available in English.

I invite anyone interested to go to
http://www.cerlsoundgroup.org/cgi-bin/Lime/German.html to download the new
German-language version of Lime. I also invite anyone who is interested to
localize Lime into another language such as Spanish, French, Italian,
Portuguese, etc., to visit this page as well. The page begins with German
text but there is also an explanation given in English under the heading:
"About non-English versions of Lime".

This version of Lime does contain the phrases needed for our Lime Aloud
access method that ships with GOODFEEL 3 which makes Lime accessible to a
user of the JAWS for Windows screen reader. (See
www.DancingDots.com/goodfeel.htm ). So I particularly invite our
German-speaking customers who use GOODFEEL to download this German version
and let us know how it works with the Lime Aloud JAWS scripts.

We thank Dr. Lippold Haken, Lime's developer, and his translator, Mr.
Reinhard Krawulsky, for all of their hard work that has made possible this
first localized version of Lime.

Please try it out and let us know how it works. If anyone wants to initiate
a project to translate into another language, do contact us or Lippold Haken
so we can avoid duplication of effort.
