Hi. I am aware of that but thanks for pointing it out anyways. But this
also happens when playing audio from the internal hd. I also tried chaining
the external drive using the second port on the tascam and the results were
the same.

I bought the mac from sweetwater and I called their tecdh support and they
suggested I call apple tech support. I'll do that tomorrow.

I wonder if a mod could be done that would sort this out but not void the
warranty?

They push the mac books for pro tools work and such but how could one do any
of that if something like the digi 002 and 003 etc won't work being that
they are both firewire?

Cameron.

Hey Cameron,

There are several articles on the web, including cakewalk, cautioning
against using USB external drives for processing audio. USB 2 isn't as
robust as FireWire 400 or 800. The specs will say that they can both
transfer about the same amount of data per second, but, firewire will
sustain the rate much more consistently then USB.

Just a suggestion, not to start another one of those never ending new
opinion threads! LOL!

Sean
