Correction (though I might be wrong myself), in Sonar, quarter = 1 beat,
you'd write it 1:00. Half is 2 beats, written 2:00. A whole would be 4
beats, 4:0. If you type 480, sonar will assume ticks, 480 ticks = 8th note.
To write a dotted quarter note (1 quarter and 8th note), you'd write 1:480.
I haven't messed with sonar in a while, but this is how I remember it
working, things could have changed though, in which case I appologize for
giving wrong info lol.
O yea, and this depends on what setting your clock is set to, 960ppq, 480,
etc. My examples assume 960 (which use to be sonar's default), meaning that
960 ticks is equal to 1 quarter note. Therefore an 8th note is half of that,
or 480, 16th is half of that, or 240 etc etc.

Ok we are going to have a G5 for our wrong note and it also has the wrong
velocity and duration, located on bar 10 beat 2 tick 480.
1: get the the posission on your song where the mistake has been made,
2: go to event view by pressing Alt 4,
3: arrow across right until you are on, "Bar Beat Tick" column, making sure
this is on the Bar Beat and tick posission for the note you wish to change,
example Bar 10 beat 2 tick 480,
4: Now move cursor across right until you hear the note name "G5" column,
5 press enter on this column and arrow up or down to the note you wish to
change the G5 too, lets say F5,
6: once you hear F5 press enter again and the note is changed,
7: arrow right once will put you on velocity, again just press enter type in
new velocity number let say 97 and press enter again,
8: move right once more to duration press enter and type in the duration you
want, example we want it to be a half note so we type 480 then press enter.
We now have F5 Velocity 97 and duration 480 ticks.
Ticks are: 1 note =960 ticks, half note 480 ticks, quarter note =240 ticks.
