[ddots-l] Re: High Quality Soft Synthes under SONAR 5 with CakeTalking for SONAR 5

Bill, the only two accessible general-purpose softsynths are Dimension
Pro and Hypersonic II.

Dimension Pro is partially supported in CT6, but he really needs CT7 for
best results.

Hypersonic II will work partially with Sonar 5/CT5, but it is pricy, and
requires an annoying USB dongle for its copy protection. There is no CT
support for it, but you can use the track properties dialog on MIDI
tracks to select patches.

Subject: [ddots-l] High Quality Soft Synthes under SONAR 5 with
CakeTalking for SONAR 5

Hi,

We have a customer who is using CakeTalking for SONAR 5. He mainly
records MIDI tracks using the Cakewalk TTS soft synthe.

Can anyone recommend a higher quality soft synthe he can use. He's
prepared to spend some money provided it has better sounds, especially
keyboard sounds, and is accessible using CT 5 with SONAR 5 Studio
edition. He knows he would have more options by upgrading to SONAR 7
with the CT 7 scripts but he does not want to upgrade right now unless
he absolutely must to get what he wants.

Regards,
Bill
