[ddots-l] Help!! Quick answer needed

Hello:

I've got to do some remote recording this weekend and want to use my Gateway
Laptop.  However, I just discovered that the stupid Sigmatel audio driver
has a built in half second latency making it tough to monitor.

1> Does anyone know how to defeat this latency
2> Would someone please recommend a low-latency  PCMCIA sound card that's
not too expensive
