[ddots-l] Hardware Question

Hi!

I'd like to get going on making midi files with my Roland keyboard, and then
do what it takes to make my own music CD's. I know that I need big
speakers, a mixer and possibly cables, but I want to make sure I have
everything else I need. I have installed Jaws 6.1, installed Sonar 4.0.1 Producer Edition,
downloaded the 4.0.2 update, and installed Cake Talking 4. Here is a
description of what my brother-in-law put on my computer:

We've left things pritty blank, aside from installing a few programs that
came with your AudioPhile soundcard. I also installed Orion Platinum on the
computer, incase you had any use for it. It's like the programs you have,
but it's less professional, and intended for making electronica and that
kind of music.
If you don't have them already, you'll need midi-cables so you can hook your
keyboard to your computer. The little cable that came with the computer
(with the midi inputs on it) came with the soundcard. It plugs into the
back, next to your wave and S/PDIF plugs. The wave plugs are the ones you
want to hook your speakers into. They are closest to the serial port where
the midi adapter (the one that came with the card) goes.
