[ddots-l] Re: Goodfeel and large scores

Hi,

I just checked the old GOODFEEL installation programs and it seems as though 
max_memory_nodes is set to 60000.  While you should still set it to 65535 and 
give it try, you'll probably have to split up your file.  If you want, we 
should be able to convert your whole file to braille in about 2 weeks.

You should try opening GOODFEEL's configuration file from the GOODFEEL start 
menu and right near the top in the [Transcription Constants] section make 
max_memory_nodes=65535.  GOODFEEL 2.6 has a memory bug that limits the size of 
this max_memory_nodes to 65535.  This is usually enough for most pieces but 
I've seen pieces that were too big before.

I tried to braille a large score with 22 parts. The piece had 18 pages. After 
starting Goodfeel I got the error message "out of memory for tilia nodes". As I 
tried to translate 13 pages of the mentioned 18, it worked. So, does anyone 
have an idea, what to do, except from dividing a large score into parts, which 
makes some more braille editing necessary? The next piece of the score will 
have 25 parts per system and about 40 pages.
