[ddots-l] Re: Freeze Track Versus Freeze Synth

each softsynth can have a midi track and audio track, I'm guessing you maybe
using Sonar 8 or above?

There are guys on this forum that will be able to explain how you set your
system to have one midi track and one audio track each time you add a softsynth
to your project.

I'm sorry I can't help with this as I use Sonar 7 and the option of single
track doing both midi and audio wasn't available.
My system by default gives me an audio and midi track each time I insert a
softsynth.

Sorry I can't be of anymore help.

Here's where the confusion lies. I actually want to freeze each channel of a
softsynth into separate audio tracks, I don't want to freeze all the channels
as one audio track. How would I do this? Would I have to create several audio
tracks? Also, I know there's a "Freeze Synth" option, but isn't there supposed
to be a "Freeze Track" option as well?

  Hi Annabelle,

I'm sorry, I wasn't by my music computer, and one of the steps I gave in my
instruction was foolishly misleading.
  Below is the corrected version.

1: make sure you are on the synth track you wish to freeze,
2: Hold down Alt and then press Enter to select track from start to end.,
3: Hold down Alt and then press R, (Properties sub menu),
4: press F to take you to, (Freeze track),
5: Arrow down until you hear Jaws say, "Freeze Synth",
6: finally press enter, it will take a few seconds for the track to be frozen.

This will have frozen just one of the softsynths, simply go to the next
softsynth track and repeat the process.

To Unfreeze a track all the above applies except number 5:
number 5: Simply arrow down until you hear Jaws say, "unfreeze Synth" and
then press enter.

How do you divide a softsynth into separate audio tracks, rather than have
all the channels on one audio track?

      Hi, it's Annabelle.
I know how to freeze a softsynth in Sonar, but I'm wondering, since I
want to divide the softsynth into individual audio tracks, instead of having
all the audio on one track, how would I do this? When I try to click on the
"Freeze Track" option in the "Freeze Menu" of the "Tracks Menu", JAWS says that
the "Freeze Track" option is "unavailable". In other words, the "Freeze Track"
option is greyed out. How would I make this so the "Freeze Track" option is
available?
