Hi, Jim,
Look under Options | Global and press CONTROL+TAB until you get to the
Folders tab. Tab until you reach the field for templates.
I believe if you tab once more and land on the ... and press ENTER, you can
point SONAR to a different place. I have never done this but I suppose you
would want to find the default location and use standard windows commands to
copy and paste that folder into a new location. Then use this Folders
dialog to point SONAR to that new location. Or perhaps there's a way to do
all of that within this dialog?
I tabbed to the Help button at the end of this dialog and brought up the
relevant SONAR help text. Here are some excerpts:
Global Options dialog--Folders
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----
Using the Options-Global command opens the Global Options dialog box.
Clicking the Folders tab gives you access to options you might want to set
for all
your projects.
This tab lets you specify folders for all your different kinds of SONAR
files. The default locations for all of these file types usually work well.
However,
if you find that this folder gets cluttered, changing the locations of the
file types listed on this tab won't hurt anything, as long as you remember
where
you put things.
Track Templates
These files store your most commonly used track settings, including track
type (MIDI or audio), effects and their settings, hardware input, bus send
settings,
and a variety of other track-related parameters. The default directory is
the Track Templates folder located in:
Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\Cakewalk\SONAR 7
<Producer or Studio> Edition\

Subject: [ddots-l] Finding templates
Hello all, I've recently had to swap my E-drive in my audio work station,
now whenever I attempt to start a new project, I see only two templates and
they are normal, and something about playlist. Can some one tell me how to
go about associating the templates with my e-drive? Thanks
