I'm no expert, but have you tried archiving a few tracks to reduce the load on
the system. Then try recording to see if anything is recorded. It may be too
many tracks of audio for your system to handle. If something does record, then
reducing the number of tracks made a difference. That would tell you
something. In that case, bouncing down your tracks might be necessary.

Subject: Sonar 4 Producer project not allowing more audio recording
Hi guys,
I'm in the midst of recording a project and I have a problem which I've never
encountered before. I am using the Normal template with 16 midi tracks and 8
audio tracks. So I'm using the audio tracks 17-24. I've recorded on tracks
17-22 and have tracks 23 and 24 unrecorded. I go to track 23, set the input,
set the starting point, arm the track, all goes fine. I press R to record and
Sonar says record. I play or sing or whatever and I am hearing input from the
mic. I stop recording. I play it back and get nothing. I checked to make
sure mute was not on and nothing is solo'd. Sonar appears to record but
nothing gets recorded. To double-check for any hardware issues, I tried
recording in the same way in another project I have going. In that one my
input gets recorded. The problem project is 6tracks currently, one rhythm, one
guitar, one vocal and 3 flutes. It is 108 measures long. What could be wrong
with this project and what can I do to fix it? I've thought of exporting each
track to an .wav file then importing them into a new project. Would this work?
Do I really have to do this? I even tried inserting a new track in this
problem project and recording. No go.
Any help greatly appreciated! Someone is waiting for this piece.
Thanks!
Laurie
