That's assuming that you can automate the bypass button. Mostly
you can't
in affects and you definitly can't auutomate the send
enable/disable button.
You could however, automate the sends volume.

Yes, try automating the bypass button from within the effect
itself, or
perhaps the send's enable/disable button.
