Roland make a range of electronic drum kits that the call V Drums. They
start with the HD-1 Lite, which is what I've got, and go up to the TD20,
which is about £3,500. The more expensive kits have all-mesh pads for the
drums, the cheaper ones use some rubber pads instead (although even my HD-1
has a mesh snare).

The on-board sounds reflect the price you pay, but I've got plenty of decent
drum sounds in my rig, so I went for a cheaper kit to control them.

Now I need to use the Drum Map Manager to map the note messages generated by
the HD-1 pads to the non-GM kit sounds I've got within my copy of DFH
Classic and some of the kits on my Kurzweil K2600.

Best wishes.

No,

But I'm just about to, having acquired a basic set of Roland V Drums. Can
let you know how I get on, if you like.

Best wishes.
