[ddots-l] Re: Dimension Pro assistance.

Yes, pres function keyF4. It's in the F4 dialog under the program options.

Can you use CT to get to the programs option dialog?

Phil,

The elements have nothing to do with the multi-timbrality - they're just
parts of the overall sound construction (imagine them as 4 oscillators
capable of using samples as their base waveforms).

Having said that, Dimension Pro can be made to be a multi-timbral instrument
(it's not by default). You need to activate the Program Options dialog
(there's an HSC hot spot for this operation), then Tab along until you get
to the "Set Program as Multi-Timbral" check box and check it using the space
bar. Pressing Enter will get you out of the dialog box and you're up and
running. There's a section on using Dimension as a multi-timbral instrument
in its help file and it's worth a read.

Best wishes.

Actually you can run Dimension Pro as a multy timbral instrument. You just
have to load up programs into the 4 individual elements in Dimension Pro.
You can access the elements on the numbers row on the top of your keyboard.

You won't be able to do that, because Dimension pro is not multy timbral.
You will have to insert another instance of the Dimension Pro.

Neville,

Thanks so much for the tips. I just didn't hit enter on the program.
That's what I missed.

I have one more question, though.

How do I play more than one Dimension Pro sound at once? I cloned my track
then changed the midi channel on the second one. I then went to a new
program on the second track, but it changed the first track to that program
as well. What else am I missing? I'd like to be able to record more than
one Dimension Pro sound for the same project.

Thanks!

Laurie

You have to go in to the synth rack, then press f4, after you arrow to
Dimension Pro, then arrow to program browser button. When you press enter on

that you will find a tree view with lots of patches you can lode. You lode
them by pressing enter over each of them.

Hello,

I just upgraded to Sonar 6 Producer, Caketalking 6 and I purchased the
Dimension Pro softsynth. Could someone give me a tutorial on how to play my
Dimension Pro sounds using my Xp-80 keyboard so that I can record patches
from Dinension Pro in Sonar? I tried inserting it as a softsynth and
inserting the midi and audio tracks. The audio engine is turned on. But I
get no sound when I play my keyboard. What am I missing? Is there some
configuration of Dimension Pro that I need to do? Help!!!

Thanks!
Laurie
