[ddots-l] Determining Time Length?Tempo of Wave Files

Does anyone know how to determine the specific running time of a Wave file 
without importing it into Sonar?  

Or, how do I keep a loop from conforming to the tempo setting once I've loaded 
it into Sonar.  

I need to know the original tempo, or at least the original time duration and 
then I can calculate what the original tempo is.
