Hello,
I have been doing a lot of Brailling with GOODFEEL using midi files as my
source matterial. I scour the internet for these files, then edit them with
Cakewalk, changing the voice tracks from clarinet or whatever the vocal
line may be represented by to voice. Then I have GOODFEEL transcribe the
music as parts.
I have a couple of other programs in my arsenal such as GNMidi by Gunther
Naegler and the newly relased Anvil Studio. Many of these files on the web
are still in midi format 0 which will not transcribe into Braille well, so
they have to be converted into format 1.
Now, as I am primarily a singer, my dream files are midis with words--the
midi version of karaoke files. Unfortunately, there are all too few of
these on the web. Does anyone know where I can buy classical midis with
words or opera karaoke? The two main sites for this:
http://www.opera.it/ and
httP://www.cantolopera.com/
seem to have gone the way of many rare species into extinction.
There is still
http://www.schubertline.co.uk
but I haven't been able to figure out how to save or record these midis
that I listen to using Sibelius Scorch.
That's the state of my midi hunting at the moment. I welcome any thoughts
or requests for files as I will be glad to share my midis with other singers.
