MessageKevin:
You would never assign an aux send to the master bus. Sonar will not let you
assign an aux send to the bus that the track's output is assigned to for
obvious reasons. I remember an early beta of sonar 1 where this was broken and
I blew my tweeters. Cakewalk offered to pay me for replacements at the time.

One other thing. What happens if you want to assign the same aux send on
multiple tracks to a particular bus? will you only get one shot at it? What
if you want to route all your outs to a master bus. So far, I only get to pick
Master once. this is a problem.

It appears that the current output assignment is not available in the
output list(I assume because its already assigned). So, if a track's output is
assigned to master, then master won't appear as one of the output list choices.
But, if you assign the same track's output to say, one of your soundcards
output pairs, then master becomes available as a output list choice, and that
soundcard output pair is removed. In other words, its a finite list that does
not duplicate the current output assignment. Hard to explain, but you know
what I mean. Like having ten rocks in a box, take one out and you only have
nine in the box and the tenth in your hand. The one in your hand isn't
available again until you put it back in the box. And, the only way to put it
back in the box is to take a different rock out of the box.

At least that's how it works on my installation.

No, you don't uneerstand. How do I assign an output of an audio track to
Master if Master isn't in the list/

I'm using some of the old AAA track templates that came with CT 4 in
Sonar 5. Interestingly, I was looking at the output assignments in the Normal
template and that template says that the output of audio track 1, track 17 is
"Master." However, when I click on it, Master is not one of the available
choices in the list, only the outs of my MOTU 2408s are available? Where is
Master. For that matter, where are Aux 1-4 which are shown in the expanded
track.

          K.
