Hi
No way is it for free, it's the Tyros II keybord.
I'll be selling it when Tyros III is released.
cheers

Hi Nick
Cheers for the comments.
having now played with compression, it appears to have done the work for me.
Unless I've got really tired ears now, the mix seems much smoother.
And it did solve the over all levels issue too
A new mix is here...

thanks again everyone for your time and advice.
chers

To me it rings true for that 80's commercial disco/fusion jazz sound... I
might bring the synth snare down just a bit with respect to the rest of the mix.

Hi Darren!
this is Jorgen here.
I have been listening to your Clouds song and I must say, I'm really
impressed with what you've done with that song. I really like it.
Did you use only the tyros 2 or did you even use other softsynths?
once again, I am very impressed and it was no distortion at all.
cheers!

I like the "master mix" plugin in the vintage channel plugins. It should
raise the volume, and also give it a bit of punch.

Hi
Not as far as processing is concerned, only soft synths, and I'm not
using soft synths for the backing tracks, not yet at least.
Cheers

That would all depend on what kind of plugins you might have. Do you have
any other plugins besides the ones that come with sonar?

OK, I'll take a look at it.
Any suggested settings?

Adding a compressor would still keep it sounding live I think. It would
also help with your volume problem.

Hi
No, it's pretty dry.
I want to keep it as dry and live sounding as possible as they will be
used as backing tracks for live artists.

Are you applying any compressors on the track? That would help
tremendously.

Subject: [ddots-l] Bouncing to a single Audio Track
Hi all.
OK, I'm mixing down several midi tracks to a single stereo audio track.
If I leave the levels pretty much as they are, it clips and distorts like
nothing on earth, but if I drop the levels to where they don't distort, the
over all volume is really low.
Is it best to put up with this low level and then increase it using the
audio trakcs volume to bring it back up to where it was?
I'm really asking for a good workflow method for getting the best
possible levels.
to illustrate, take a listen to...
www.darrenhartland.com/music/clouds.mp3
the levels when bouncing to audio were really low, but once the audio
track was recorded, I increased it's volume to plus 3 and exported.
In this respect I really miss a good mixing desk.
cheers
