Sharon:
That is not a function of cake talking at all. It sounds like your roland phantom is not receiving id patch change messages. You'll need to find out how to make sure they are turned on.

Subject: [ddots-l] Assigning a Patch to a Midi Track

Hi all!

I have at least 2 questions, which I will ask in 2 separate messages:

I have a Roland Fantom-X6 and edirol Orchestral connected to Sonar 4, Producer Edition. I thought i was somewhat familiar with midi tracks and midi channels, because I used them on a portable sequencer that I got with my old Roland E15 keyboard. when I look in the track properties dialogue of various midi tracks, I noticed that midi track 1 seems to be paired up with midi channel 1, midi track 2 with midi channel 2, so maybe that's the way it goes all the way down to midi track 16. My problem is that when I opened a midi track other than #1, and use the patch browser to select a patch, the Fantom does not change to the patch I selected. which section of CakeTalking will tell me how to set everything up, so that I can assign any patch to any midi track?

thanks!

Sharon
