Remember that the MIDI tracks generate audio output which can clip just as
can any recorded audio. The drop-outs may be a different issue entirely,
but the clipping says that you may have a too high aggregate volume. I've
also noted the clipping sound on some MIDI synth/sound fonts if the sound
is too hot.
