Have you set up your card to use ASIO drivers.  ALT+O, O to get into the
Audio Options multi-page dialog.

Read details on setting up your two soundcards just to be sure you're not
overloading the high-end card.

Hi Everyone

I recently installed a Multimix firewire 8 with the supplied software using
my computer's firewire connection and when I run  Sonar 5 with the ct5
scripts
it frequently locks up.  Are there any settings in Sonar that I should use
with this mixer or is the firewire interface the problem?
