Hi Chi!!
Use the sound Blaster Audigy as your default sound card for Windows and
applications such as Jaws
and Winamp. I wouldn't personally use the same sound card for Jaws and Sonar.
Instead, set-up
ether your RME or Tascam as the default sound card for audio applications such
as Sonar and Sound
Forge. Note: you can do this from within Sonar and Sound Forge. In Sonar, you
would do this in the
"audio options" dialog box. In Sound forge, you do this in preferences.
Regarding WDM or MME, use WDM. It's way better than MME. Personally I would
probably think about
getting rid of one of your hi end sound cards. That way, you could use ASIO.
You will achieve much
better latency wit ASIO than WDM drivers. That's because most sound card ASIO
drivers are much
better written than ASIO ones.
Regarding using the Tascam fw-1884 as a control surface well, you would need to
do that from within
the control surfaces dialog box in Sonar. I am not sure if there is a control
surface available for
that in Sonar by default. I will check thatout for you tomorrow if you like.
Finally, regarding CT for Sonar 4 yes, April 10th is the date we have all been
given for the public
release.
Regards, Phil Muir, one of the Cake Talking beta testers.
